Why there's no second E

People ask if it's a typo. It isn't.

EVRLASTING is missing a letter on purpose. The word it points to belongs to God. He is the One who is everlasting, whose love endures forever. We are not. We are made, finite and unfinished, and we didn't want a name that pretended otherwise.

A confession, not a gimmick

The gap where the second E should be is a small confession. It says we are an echo of something whole, not the whole thing. Our clothes can last a long time. We can work hard to make them well. But nothing we make is eternal, and neither are we.

Scripture is honest about that. "All people are like grass," Isaiah writes, but "the word of our God endures forever" (Isaiah 40:8). The contrast is the point. Our name holds both: the reach toward what lasts, and the admission that we fall short of it.

Why it matters to how we work

A brand that admits it is incomplete has to behave differently. It can't promise you perfection. It can't shout. It has to be honest about what it is still learning, about delays, about what a piece costs to make and why.

So that's what we try to do. When something goes wrong, we'll tell you. When we don't know yet, we'll say so. The missing E keeps us honest about who we are and who we're pointing to.

The letter we're waiting on

We like to think of the missing letter as something still to come. One day what is unfinished in us will be made whole, not by our own effort, but by grace. Until then, we make what we can, as well as we can, and point past ourselves.

His love endures forever.
